Many domainers were afraid to buy any .tv's since they feel while being a cctld Google will treat those domains as such.
Even though no one would argue over this we know that Google treats many cctld's as gtld's, according to John Mueller(Webmaster Trends Analyst at Google) .TV is one of them.
